Most of the works of Sinclair Ross are set in the context of the prairie in the west of Canada, which vividly reflect people's living conditions and psychological changes under harsh conditions. The Lamp at Noon is renowned as Ross' masterpiece. Set in the context of severe drought in Canada in the 1930s, it reflects the psychological rift and psychological conflict between wife and husband. Starting from the context of the novel, the paper is to analyze the themes of the novel, that is, the theme of man against nature and the theme of conflicts between men and women. On the basis of it, the paper is to explore the relation between the two themes.
