巴蜀弥勒文化考论

Research on Maitreya Culture of the Ba-shu Area

佛教传入巴蜀始于后汉,净土僧侣传播其宗诸经,则时代较后。本文所考论者即净土历史文化及弥勒信仰入蜀之途径,传法高僧弘扬该宗之历程,嘉州大佛弥勒文化之影响。弥勒文化慈善济世,普爱博施的宗风经累世传承,形成了对社会民众受灾莫不广施赈救的优良传统。这种赈灾救难精神为后世的慈善事业开乎先路,应该给予肯定。

Buddhism introduced into Ba-shu began in Han Dynasty while monks of pure land of Buddhism spread the sutras in the later time. The article aims at the history and culture of pure land of Buddhism and the ways of the belief of Maitreya introduced into Shu, the process the eminent monks carried forward the cases, the influence of Maitreya Culture in JiaZhou Buddha, and the inheritage of being charitable and making contributions to public for many generations, which formed a good tradition to rescue people from disaster. The spirit of relief and rescue makes a good start for future philanthropy, which should be given recognition.
