Reinterpreting Language Games:A Lexical Meaning Change Perspective

本文从语义演进角度探讨了维特根斯坦语言游戏的规则属性和动态特征。研究指出,维氏的语言游戏规则性并非只是原理层面的抽象概念,它在语义变化中可以藉由意义潜势表达出来,而且,规则的可变性和不确定性在语义变化范围和方式上也有具体的表现。文章进一步指出,话语意义是语境和意义潜势共同作用的结果,意义变化和规则变化的范围和方向在很大程度上受意义潜势和语境的制约。鉴于此,从意义潜势观察语义发展和语言游戏规则变化十分重要,这既有助于了解语言使用和意义之间的动态关系,也有助于深化对"语言游戏"的认识。

This research looks into the rule and the dynamics in Wittgenstein＇ s language games from the perspective of lexical meaning change, and argues that Wittgenstein＇ s ＂rule for language game＂ is not an abstract theoretical concept but a practical notion that can find its expression in meaning potentials ; moreover, the diversity and variation of rules can find their manifestations in changes and variations of linguistic meaning. The paper further goes into the effects of meaning potentials and contextual factors on change of lexical meaning and language rules, contending that the change of meaning and rule is not a random process but a course co-determined by contextual factors and meaning potentials. It concludes that meaning potential provides an effective perspective for the observation of the dynamics in rule change and meaning change, and it can deepen our understanding of Wittgenstein＇ s theory of language game.
