汉英“以物喻身”复合词认知考察

A Cognitive Study on Chinese and English Compounds with Objects as Vehicle

通过对汉英"以物喻身"复合词的映射模式、生成手段和喻体来源的对比,探索两者在映射模式和生成手段上表现出的共性特点以及在喻体来源、使用频率、词汇结构等方面因生活环境、语言文化等因素的制约表现出的个性特点,加深对此类复合词的认识和理解,促进词汇习得和跨文化交际并为翻译实践中的恰当选词提供一定的参考。

Based on a contrastive analysis of the mapping mode, generative means and vehicle origin between Chinese and English compounds with objects as vehicle, the paper aims to find the similarities shown in the mapping mode and generative means and the differences shown in vehicle origin, frequency in use and word structure caused by living environment, different language and culture for further understanding on this type of compounds. The final purpose is to promote vocabulary acquisition, cross-cultural communication and guide proper word selection during translation practice.
