摘要
传媒学着重分析媒介工具的社会作用,而信息经济学主要关注信息本身的缺陷对于经济活动的影响。文章认为无论是从传媒学角度还是从信息经济学角度来分析,传媒都是媒介工具与信息的统一体,两者密不可分。重新界定传媒的重要价值在于,可以从信息经济学的角度揭示传媒对于经济活动的重要影响作用,即传媒尤其是新媒体在一定程度上可以减少信息的不完全性、克服信息的不对称性以及降低信息的搜寻成本。这一理论分析对于解决信息经济学的难点问题具有重要的理论价值,对于克服困扰理论经济学的市场失灵等方面的问题则具有现实意义,同时也为传媒在宏观和微观经济活动中,特别是在大的危机发生后为经济研究提供理论根据,为辅助政府调控经济活动提供一定的政策线索。
Media studies focus on the social role of media tools while information economics pays close attention to the effect of information defects on economic activities. This paper states that both from the perspectives of media studies and information economics, the media are the unity of media tools and information which are inseparable from each other. The critical value of the new definition of the media lies in the exploration of the important role of the media in economic activities from the perspective of information economics, namely the media especially new media can reduce information incompleteness, overcome information asymmetry and decrease information search costs to a certain extent. This theoretical analysis is of great theoretical value to the solution to difficult problems of information economics, and of real significance to the resolution of issues troubling theoretical economics like market failure. Moreover, it also provides theoretical basis for economic research on the impacts of the media on macro and micro economic activities, especially after big crises, and certain policy clues for helping governments to regulate economic activities.
