摘要
两岸人民，同为中华民族，血缘、语言、文字、习俗等均属相同，走向团结合作，迈进和平统一，乃是自然之趋势。今天，两岸人民的共同愿望都是不要战争，要和平。希望两岸以和平理性来讨论两岸人民的共同利益。
Liang Surong(1920- 2004) was born in Changtu County, Liaoning. He was a hero of resisting the Japanese invaders. He is a famous politician of Taiwan always adhering to the strategy of "peaceful reunification of China". In his later years, Liang Surong was more enthusiastic in the great cause of peaceful reunification of China. In the opening speech at the Seminar on China’s Peaceful Reunification, he called on: "The theme of the seminar is ‘welcome the new century, and build the New China’. We hope to make joint efforts with all guests and delegates, to welcome the arrival of the new era of the unified and prosperous China!"
