There are too many ancient relics, stories and legends about the ancient city. As early as 6,000 years ago, some people began to live in Jinzhou. In the Han Dynasty, Jinzhou became the political, economic and cultural center in Southern Liaoning. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, governor of Jinzhou had jurisdiction over more than half of Southern Liaoning. In the Qing Dynasty, the jurisdiction scope almost was expanded to the entire Southern Liaoning.
