A study of Coakley's ideology about competition in competitive sports

通过文献回顾,探索科克利对竞争概念理解的演变及其从批判主义理论、冲突理论、女性主义理论、文化理论和结构理论视角对竞争的解读,指出了对竞争和成功狭窄理解的弊端,提出对竞争奖励结构的调整、对成功多维度定义和寻找主流体育的备选代替形式等对策,这些对于目前中国体育都有着现实借鉴意义。

By means of literature review, the authors probed into the evolution of Coakley＇s understanding of the concept of competition and his interpretation of competition from the perspectives of criticism theory, conflict the-ory, feminism theory, cultural theory, and structural theory, pointed out the drawbacks of narrow understanding of competition and success, and put forward measures such as adjusting the competition rewarding structure, defining success in a multidimensional way and seeking an alternative form for mainstream sports, which will be realistically significant for being referred to by Chinese sports today.
