Funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,a research group led by Prof.Liu Yunqi from Institute of Chemistry,Chinese Academy of Sciences,has recently made significant progress in the research of controlled growth of graphene.To overcome the general problem(non-uniform nucleation on traditional solid Cu surface)in graphene growth using chemical vapor deposition(CVD)method,they demonstrated for the first time a CVD approach that allows the direct synthesis of uniform single-layered,large-sized,spatially self-aligned and single-crystalline hexagonal graphene
