An Adaptability Analysis on Translation Quality

Verschueren的顺应论为语篇分析提供了一个更为全面、深入的解释,即语言的使用是基于内部或外部的原因,从不同的意识层次为适应交际需要而在不同层面上进行顺应的过程,顺应是交际的需要。翻译是一个跨文化的交际过程,英汉差异也使英汉翻译过程需要进行顺应性地选择,用顺应论对不同语体的英汉翻译语篇进行语言语境和交际语境两方面的分析,可以发现顺应论在指导英汉翻译和评估英汉翻译质量方面具有重要意义。

The adaptability theory proposed by Verschueren provides a more comprehensive and deeper in-terpretation frame for text analysis.He thinks language use is based on the internal or external reasons, and is a process in which,to adapt to the communication need,adaptability choices are made in different layers and with different degrees of awareness.That is to say adaptability is the need of communication. Translation is a cross-cultural communication process,and the differences between different languages make it necessary to make adaptative choices constantly during translation process.In this study,the a-daptability theory is used to analyze the language context and communication context of translation of dif-ferent styles,and we find that the adaptability theory plays a significant role in guiding translation and e-valuating translation quality.
