摘要
我们发展了一套利用测光样本构建卫星星系,并研究这些在已知红移的暗晕中央星系周围的卫星星系内禀统计性质的方法.我们的方法能够从统计上给出对卫星星系性质的无偏估计.我们将这一方法应用到斯隆数字化巡天的测光样本上,并研究了在邻近红移的孤立星系(z≈0.1)以及较高红移(z≈0.4)的亮红星系周围的卫星星系.我们将相同的研究方法应用到基于郭琦等人(2011)的半解析模型得到的模拟星系样本中,并由此与观测结果进行对比.
We develop a new method to measure the intrinsic properties of photometric satellites around a set of spectroscopically identified halo central galaxies. Our method can measure satellite properties in a statistically unbiased way. Applying this method to the photometric galaxy catalogue from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, we study satellite properties around a set of isolated primary galaxies at z ≈ 0.1 and luminous red galaxies (LRGs) at z ≈ 0.4. In order to compare theory with observations, the same method is repeated to a simulated galaxy catalogue based on the semi-analytical model of Guo et al. (2011).
