大多数转运途径都需要一种SNARE(Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor)蛋白质复合体介导转运膜泡与靶膜的融合。
: Most cells contain a variety of transport vesicles with different functions. Despite the different transport routes and different substances carried, the basic molecular mechanisms of cellular transport appear to be rather similar and conserved in evolution. Most transport routes need a protein complex called Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor (SNARE) to induce the fusion of vesicle and target membrane. It is also evident that another protein family, the Sec 1/Munc 18 proteins (SM proteins), plays a prominent role in vesicle trafficking. But, in contrast to the clarity about SNARE proteins, different experimental systems obtained different data on the function of SM proteins and the interaction mode between SM proteins and SNARE proteins. The research progress of the structure and function of SM proteins are reviewed and the molecular mechanisms, functions and applications of SM proteins are summarized in this paper.
