摘要
目前所知,商周时期铜器大约有二、三十件带有“臣辰”铭文,其中绝大多数的铭文比较简短,如下引铭文1~4、9~12;但也有一些的铭文较长,如下引铭文5、13。
The "Chenchen" in the inscriptions of many bronzes of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties was not only a person' s name, who played a historiographer role in the Shang Dynasty, but also his family name. Chenchen himself and the members from Chenchen family worked as historiographers in both the Shang and the Western Zhou Dynasties. This family is derived from the "Chen辰" family who was a branch of the "Yi佚" family. The Chenchen family had many members working in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties as "zuoce" , which belonged to the historiographer system at that time; therefore, it can be thought that the Chenchen family was a trans-dynastic historiographer family. The appearance of the "Chenchen historiographer family" reflects the fact that Zhou government continued to use many Shang officials; which was related to the ruling policies and educational situation at that time. The continuity of the civil officials from the Shang to the Zhou Dynasties was an important factor for the succeeding of the ritual system of the Shang Dynasty by the Western Zhou Dynasty.
