As a renowned American feminist theorist,Toril Moi demonstrates great emphasis on the political aspect of feminist theory and offers pioneering introduction to French feminist theories. While doing research on Beauvoir, her focus turns to the embodied existence, which brings up a new chapter for Beauvoir's feminist thought and provides an alternative solution to the postmodern question of gender with the understanding of the body as in the situation. Therefore,by shifting from politics to corporality,Moi brings feminist theories into a new direction.
