红矮A为一新育成的新质源籼型不育系 ,具有西非栽培稻DissiD5 2 / 37的胞质 ,花粉不育度 99.95 % ,不育株率 1 0 0 % ,农艺性状优良 ,遗传性状稳定 ,开花习性好 ,配合力强 ,杂种一代优势强 ,米质好 ,抗病性强。所配组合红优 5 35 5、红优 2 2于 1 999年 5月通过四川省品种审定。

Hong'ai A is a newly developed indica CMS line with a type of cytoplasmic source from Dissi D52/37, a western Africa cultivar. Its pollen sterility is 99.95% and its percentage of sterile plants is 100%. It has the characteristics of good plant type, desirable agronomic characters, good combining ability and favourable flowering habits. Its F 1 hybrids show strong yield heterosis and good grain quality. Hongyou 5355 (Hong'ai A/CDR5355) and Hongyou 22 (Hong'ai A/CDR22) were certified by the Crop Appraisal Committee of Sichuan Province in 1999.
