摘要
1936年11月2日段祺瑞去世,社会各界深表哀悼。南京国民政府主动参与段祺瑞丧事的办理,林森、蒋介石及中央要员或亲往祭奠,或唁电悼念,或派人前往,地方官员也积极协助,政府并为其国葬做相应准备。南京国民政府对段祺瑞丧礼的重视,不仅在于树立自身的宽容形象,巩固政权的合法性基础,也在于段祺瑞一生确有值得尊崇之处。
Duan Qirui died in Nov. 2, 1936, and people of all walks of life were deeply grieved. The Nan- jing National Government actively participated in the handling of the funeral. Lin Sen, Chiang Kai - shek and the central officials paid homage to the memorial ceremony. The local officials coordinated positively. The gov- ernment made corresponding preparations for his state funeral. The Nanjing National Government＇s attention to Duan Qirui~ funeral not only lies in establishing their own tolerance image, consolidating the foundation of their political power~ legitimacy, but also lies in that Duan Qirui~ life is worthy of respect.
