新世纪乡村叙事打破了传统乡村叙事"本质建构"冲动的束缚,面对社会转型加速、乡土中国衰败加剧的现实,新世纪乡村叙事开始全面转向对乡村和农民在现代化历史进程中悲剧性历史命运("乡村本体")的书写。但"本质"的瓦解给作家带来的却不是自由和轻松,而是不适。如何承担起这份"无本质"之"轻"并继续前行,这是新世纪乡村叙事产生、发展的关键。

Country narration in the new century breaks through the impulse bind of the natural construction in traditional country narration. Facing the fast social transformation and the reality of intensified decline of n- ative China, country narration of the new century turns to writing the tragic and historic fate of country and peas- ants in the course of the modernization. But the disintegration of ＂nature＂ does not bring forth freedom and relax but discomfort to writers. How to shoulder this non - essence relax and move on is the key to the innovation and development of country narration in the new century.
