生态翻译学视域下葛浩文翻译研究——莫言小说英译之旅

A Study of Howard Goldblatt’s Translation from an Eco-translatological Perspective

莫言能成为首位获得诺贝尔文学奖的中国作家,译者葛浩文功不可没。从生态翻译学视角分析葛浩文对翻译文本的选择与适应、三维转换,发现葛译不仅是翻译生态环境选择与适应的过程,也是包括作者、译者、目标读者、委托者等在内的整个翻译生态环境动态平衡、和谐统一的过程。

Mo Yan was the first Chinese national to win a Nobel Prize in literature and much credit should go to Howard Goldblatt’s translation of his works.This paper,from the Eco-translatology perspective,analyzes Mr.Goldblatt’s translation process:selection and adaptation and three-dimensional transformations(i.e.,linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions),and reveals that Mr.Goldblatt’s translation is not only aprocess of selection and adaptation,but also dynamic balance and a harmonious unification process involving the author,the translator,target readers,the consignor and so on.
