摘要
教材改革是教学改革的关键。我国当前的大学英语教材在编写中存在的问题主要有:较少落实教学要求、受四六级制约、难易程度处理有欠科学、练习量和生词量缺乏监控、缺少与高中英语衔接的考虑、欠缺对教师职业发展能力的关注以及本土文化缺失等。本文梳理当前大学英语教材在编写、使用和研究中存在的问题,并对我国大学英语课程的定位和技能定位进行探讨。作者认为,大学英语应该属于通识课程,大学英语教学不仅仅是普通英语的教学,更重要的是专门用途英语的教学,尤其是学术英语的教学。
Textbook reform is pivotal to teaching reform. The main deficiencies in current college English textbook compilation in China include : inadequate implementation of the College English Curriculum Requirements, irrational confinement of CET 4/6, unscien- tific revision of original materials, insufficient monitoring of the quantity of exercises and vocabulary, disconnection with junior middle school English textbooks, inattention to teachers ' professional development, and lacking presentation of Chinese culture. In this article, problems in the compilation, application and research of college English textbooks are summarized, and the orien- tations of the course of College English, as well as of the skills this course aims to cultivate, are explored. It is claimed that Col- lege English is a general education curriculum, which consists not only in EGP, but also in ESP and above all, EAP.
