Joint Building and Sharing for Regional High-Density Preservation Library: Taking ReCAP as an Example

馆藏与馆舍的矛盾是当今所有研究图书馆面临的难题。本文以美国研究馆藏储存联盟ReCAP项目为例,详细介绍了美国哥伦比亚大学、普林斯顿大学和纽约公共图书馆三所研究图书馆合作建设跨地区、跨学校、跨系统的文献储藏项目及其开展的文献储藏与保护、借阅服务和资源共享方面的成功经验,旨在为面临同样问题的我国研究图书馆提供可资借鉴学习的范例,并对我国建设区域性合作储藏图书馆提出了建议。

Insufficient space for rapidly expanding library collection is a common problem faced by all academic libraries. This paper, taking RECAP （Research Collections and Preservation Consortium） as an example, introduces in detail a successful project of document preservation facility jointly built by three research libraries including Columbia University, Princeton University and New York Public Library. RECAP is a successful project that enables document conservation, circulation and resource sharing across regions, universities and systems, providing reference for academic libraries in China facing the same problem, and suggesting possibility of similar regional joint facility in China.
