Tomb M28 is one of the largest tombs in the Yejiashan Western Zhou cemetery, from which more than 600 pieces of burial objects are unearthed, including bronzes, potteries, jades, protoporcelains, and lacquer wares. This tomb's owner is considered as one of the marquise of the Zeng State in early Western Zhou period, based on a comprehensive analysis of the tomb's scale and the burial objects, especially the bronze wares with inscriptions "Marquis Jian of the Zeng" and "Marquis of the Zeng". Moreover, the other extremely significant discovery of the tomb is the two copper ingots, since the copper content of them is about 98%, which proves that the Zeng State could smell bronze independently. Meanwhile, the discovery offers important proof for study the source of copper minerals of the states in the Eastern Han River area.
