Opinions of Dose-Effect Relation of Prepared Herbs by National Top Chinese Physician Professor LI Jiren

就中药量效关系问题对国医大师李济仁教授进行的访谈。李老认为,中药用量和疗效之间存在很强的相关性;量效关系的主要影响因素包括:药物的炮制方法、配伍、煎煮法,以及患者的体质、地理、气候等;对于危、急、难、重病症,要参考邪正比重、患者体质等因素,加大药物用量;李老针对痹病等发作性疾病采用"择时分服"的方法,在不增加药量的情况下,可以更好地发挥疗效。

The article had an interview with national top Chinese physician professor LI Jiren about dose -effect relation of the prepared herbs. Professor LI believed dose of Chinese herbs was closely related with effect. The main factors influencing on dose - effect relation included processing method of herbs, combination, decocting method, constitution, geographical distribution, and climate. With regard to critical, urgent, complicated and severe disorders, the proportion between right qi and evil qi and pa- tients＇constitution were considered before increasing doses of herbs. Paroxysmal disease like Bi syndrome, professor LI would advise patient to take decoction in specific time,which could exert a favorable effect without increasing doses of herbs.
