Exploration on the Cultural Characteristics of Leisure Sports

休闲体育由于受特定地理环境的影响,表现出鲜明的民族文化特征,体现着儒、道、禅文化的特色。儒家的刚健有为和忠恕之道,道家的顺任自然和天人合一,禅宗的平常心,以及中医的阴阳调和理论,均在休闲体育中得到了深刻的彰显。因此休闲体育不仅是一项人民大众喜闻乐见的运动,更是中国人修身养性的重要途径,值得发扬光大。

Influenced by geographical environment, the leisure sports in our country shows distinctive national culture characteristics, which embodies Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. The harmony, loyalty, kind- heartedness in Confucianism, the integrity of man and nature in Taoism, the ordinary heart in Buddhism as well as the yin and yang congruity in Chinese medicine all have significant manifestation in Chinese Leisure sports. Therefore, leisure sports is not only a sports catered to the common people, but more a vital method for moral cultivation, which deserves being brought to a greater height of devel- opment.
