Calcium reacts with murcxidc in alkaline solution (pH 10.4-11.1) to form a stable orange complex with an absorption maximum at 500nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 2.50-25.0 μg/ 50ml copper. The molar absorptivity is 1.2 × 104L · mol-1cm-1. The sensibility is 0.003μg / cm2. The recovery ratio is 94-104%.
