泛化现象共存于汉、英亲属称谓系统中,蕴含着不同的文化习俗。通过比较汉英称谓系统及其泛化的异同,从社会语言学强调的"人和社会"的角度,探讨翻译过程如何灵活应用各种翻译对策,如增减、替换、改写等达到语用对等效果。同时进行方法上的探讨,即通过汉英亲属称谓语泛化对比研究,探究其背后所隐藏的社会文化历史原因。

The extensive use of address system exists in both Chinese and English and there are tremendous differences in many aspects like the amount of extensive use and pragmatic meanings. Through comparing the similarities and differences between the extension of the Chinese and English kinship address systems and the systems themselves, ways of translating the extensive use of the Chinese kinship terms have been explored from the aspect of sociolinguistics.
