在全球化和现代化背景下,加强国家认同和民族认同,对于促进民族团结、民族关系和谐有着重要意义。为此,必须加快民族地区经济社会发展,缩小民族间差距,推动少数民族社会结构转型,促进各民族的社会整合与认同,尊重和保护少数民族文化,维护中华民族的统一性。

In promoting globalization and modernization, enhancing national identity and ethnic identity, and building a positive ethnic identity can promote national unity and harmonious ethnic relations. Efforts should be made to accelerate economic and social development in ethnic regions, reduce gaps among ethnic groups, push forward transformation of social structure of ethnic minorities, and build up a fair, rational and open social structure to facilitate social integration and identification of all ethnic groups. Higher education can accelerate the harmonious coexistence of national identity and ethnic identity and we should respect and protect culture of ethnic minorities to preserve unity and vitality of the Chinese Nation.
