Objective To analyze the MRI appearance and clinical value of Cyclops lesion after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee and to improve the recognition of signs. Methods The MRI findings of 42 cases (30 males, 12 females, mean age of 28.6 years) with Cyclops lesion were retrospectively analyzed. Results MRI images showed abnormal soft tissue with signal characteristics consistent with fibrous tissue located anterior the reconstruc ted ACL in the intercondylar notch. Cyclops lesion appeared hypointensity on T1WI and isohypointensity on T2WI and PD WI. The images of MR Arthrography cleanly showed the edge of lesion by contrast agent. Scar tissue was the pathological change of Cyclops lesion. Conclusion MRI is the first choice for diagnosis of Cyclops lesion after reconstruction ACL of the knee and useful for clinic treatment.
