论刘师培“文体备于东汉”说的理论特色

On the Features of Liu Shipei's Theory Styles Were Complete during the Warring States Period

章学诚的"文体备于战国"说,是中国文体学史上的重要命题,刘师培的"文体备于东汉"说是对这一命题的直接响应。虽然刘师培在学术上曾受章学诚的巨大影响,然其说迥别,原因在于二人对文章的不同态度和论证的方法不同。相比之下,刘师培之说更符合文体发展情况,具有更明显的合理性。

Zhang Xuecheng＇s theory that styles were complete during the Warring States Period is an important topic of Chinese stylistics. Liu Shipeils theory that styles were complete during the Eastern Han Dynasty is a direct response to the topic. Yet, the two theories are dramatically different because Zhang and Liu had distinct attitudes to writings, and also because they had distinct ways of argumentation. Comparatively, Liu＇s theory accords with the development of styles, thus its rationality is more evident.
