国家形象可以形成一种难以忽略的力量影响一国的内外政策,因此,对国家形象进行研究就有重要意义。传播学、历史文化学和政治学3个学界对于国家形象都有具体的研究和定义,但是皆具有各自的学科侧重之处。事实上国家形象是一个综合概念,形象一旦形成即具有相对独立性,有自身独特的运行规则,这种形诸于外的国家形象可以依国家的利益需要和发展战略通过国家的对内对外政策而被主观塑造。认清国家形象的本质和内涵,构建良好的的国家形象,创造理想的国际环境,改善对外关系,对于提高国家的国际地位和影响力至关重要。

National image can be the immense power to influence a nation＇s domestic and foreign policies, so it is of great significance to carry out research on the theory of national image. Communication Theory, Historial Science of Culture and Politics have specific research and definitions of national image, but they only pay attention to the emphasis and features in their fields. Actually national image is a comprehensive conception. Once the national iraage is formed, it is relatively independent and has unique operating rules. Moreover, a national image could be shaped subjectively by domestic and foreign policies in accordance with the needs of national interests and development. It is essential to get a clear understanding of the nature and connotation of national image, to build up a good national image, to create an ideal international environment, to improve the international relations so as to promote China~ international status and influence.
