高职理工科学生翻译技能培养有关问题研究——以功能翻译理论在科技翻译中的应用析谈为例

Application of Functionalist Translation Theories to Translation of English for Science and Technology

理论指导实践是翻译研究的首要任务。功能翻译理论针对翻译实践提出的目的性、忠诚性、以及连贯性三大原则,使得翻译实践有了较好的理论指南。但是,在高职理工学生的专业翻译教学中,学生往往倾向于将三原则直接套用在翻译实例上,此举是受工科思维的影响,即强调原理与实例之间严格的对应性。这种机械操作的结果既表现为学生翻译能力的瓶颈,也体现出了学生对理论理解上的局限性。因此,如何正确理解功能翻译理论及其三原则的内涵,让学生领会三原则的辩证性应用,对高职理工科学生翻译能力培养的教学研究具有重要意义。

It＇s the primary task for translation researchers to guide practice with theories. Aiming at translation practice the functionalist translation theories present skopos rule, fidelity rule and coherence rule which perform proper theoretical guidance to it. However, in professional translation teaching the students usually apply the three rules mechanically to translation instances because they are affected by their engineering thinking which emphasizes rigid allelism between theory and living example. The result of their mechanical operation reflects the students＇ bottleneck of translation ability and their limitation to understanding of the theories. Hence it＇s of great significance to develop the translation competence of the high college students majoring in science and engineering courses if they are made to comprehend correctly the functionalist translation theories and the content and the dialectical application of the three rules.
