An Analysis on Chesterman's Translation Ethics Study——From the Ethics' Perspective

翻译伦理从属于道德观范畴是道德观的一个方面。对于翻译伦理的选择,很大程度上体现了对道德观的选择。就切斯特曼的翻译伦理观而言,其具体的伦理标准分别体现了绝对主义和功利主义的道德观,带有自身无法克服的局限性。而准则功利主义和哈贝马斯的交往行动理论的出现,为翻译伦理观研究提供了新的、更为科学的理论基础。

Translation ethics is an integrated part of ethics. During the process of translation, the choice of which translation ethics to follow reflects the choice of morality. Chesterman＇s theory of translation ethics has achieved considerable acceptance but still suffers contradictions among its individual criterion, while the advent of rule-Utilitarianism and Ju rgen Habermas＇ communicative ethics offers sound solution to the problem and provides theoretical basis for translation ethics study.
