Time and space are two indispensible components of the basic conceptual framework for the construction of the narrative world. For American Jewish writers, time and space have a unique significance. They not only reflect the Jewish suffering in the past, but also refract the Jewish ways of existence. American Jewish writers attach great attention to the particular functions of time and space in the representation of their past misery, mindset and ways of life. The present paper attempts to generalize the basic strategies in their deployment of time and space through analyzing some canonized American Jewish novels and to find some basic paradigmatic models.
