摘要 比喻形象的保留与转换,是成功翻译一部文学作品的关键。基于此,以翻译的"目的论"为基础,以在英语译文中保留中国特色的民族文化为翻译目的,以《三国演义》的英译为例,分别采用了直译、隐喻/明喻加喻义、意译保留形象和舍弃形象的方法,详尽讨论了文学作品英译过程中,比喻形象如何穿过文化差异,得以保留和转换的具体问题。提出了在文化流日趋频繁的潮流下,翻译文学作品时,应多以传播中国特色文化为目的,尽量保留比喻形象的主张。 To retain and to transform the figurative images are the critical points in translating literature works. Based on the trans- lation theory of "Skopos theory', the translated texts of Romance of Three Kingdoms are employed as examples in this paper te discuss how to retain and transform figurative images properly aiming at retaining the China-featured culture as much as possible. In this process, four procedures are introduced, including reproducing the same image, metaphor/simile plus meaning, translating the implied meaning with images retained and abandoning images. A proposition is brought forward that there should be more literature works to be translated with the aim of spreading China-featured culture and trying to retain cultural figurative images in the trend of increasing pros- perity of cultural blending.
