the techniques of seedlings cultivation and tree transplantation of Yoshino cherry （ Prunus x yedoens/s ＇ somei-yoshino＇ ） are summed up as follows ： （ 1 ） Thick sandy soil with good drainage is suitable to the cuhivation of Yoshino cherry; （2） spacing of 4 m is appropriate to the seedlings planted in early stage and the spacing of 8 ~ l0 m to 8 ~ 10-year-old trees ; （ 3 ） watering and fertilizing and pruning in the cultivation managemant are quite necessary, including applying enough base fertilizers and topdressing, and prunin＇g of twigs ; （4） spraying appropriate insecticides controls diseases and insect pests of Yoshino cherry ; （5） the roots need to be irrigated with B2 vigor for the transplantation of big trees.
