丁文江是我国地质事业开创时期的拓荒者,喜欢谈政治的兴趣,让他和胡适走在一起。他们在工作中互相帮助,特别是处于逆境时互相宽慰和鼓励,成为一生难得的好朋友。
DING Wen-jiang, a pioneer in the geology circle of China in the early time, liked talking about his interest on politics, which made him become a friend with HU Shi. They helped each other in work and encouraged in adversity, which made their friendship more firm and intimate.
