Universities libraries have unique advantages in improving the students＇ information retrieval ability. This paper elaborates the innovational practice of improving information retrieval ability of university students carried out in the library of Hubei University of Automotive Technology, and explores the factors influencing the information retrieval ability, and puts forward suggestions on improving the informative retrieval ability of university students, on the basis of the informative retrieval ability.
