汉诗中人称代词的英译问题——以崔护的《题都城南庄》为例

On the Process of Personal Pronouns in Chinese- English Translation——A Case Study of the Translations to Cui Hu's Written in a Village South of the Capital

在翻译过程中,译者基于自己对原文的解读,根据翻译目的,通过目的语的词语、句式来传递源语所蕴含的意义。译者对原文的理解及对译词的选择在很大程度上会影响译文的效果。从唐代诗人崔护的七言绝句《题都城南庄》几个版本的翻译中可见,不同译者对人称代词不同角度的处理会导致诗文意义传递效果的迥然不同。在翻译过程中既要强调翻译,即翻译意义,又要强调译者的重要性,即强调翻译活动中译者的主体性。

In the process of translating, translators transfer the meaning of the target language with words and sentence patterns based on their own decipherment according to the purpose of translation, so the interpretation and choice of words of the translators will greatly influence the effect of the translation, taking the translation of the seven - character - quatrain Written in a Village South of the Capital by Cui Hu in the Tang dynasty for an example. With the analysis on different versions of the translation to the poem, we can see clearly：Different translators will provide completely different textual interpretation with different processing on personal pronouns. In the process of translation,we not only need to focus on translation itself, i. e. the textual meaning,but also we need to realize the importance of the translators,i, e. the translator＇s subjectivity as well.
