On the History,Status Quo and Trend of Speech Education in America

摘要当代美国演讲教育的主要以培养学生人际交流及参与社会活动能力、培养自信心及健全人格,并最终帮助其提高择业竞争和追求事业成功能力为目标。言辞能力培养被视为帮助学生求职就业、追求事业成功和有效参与民主社会生活的基本要素。当代美国演讲教育的趋势为:演讲学生种族与血统出现多元化趋势,信息传媒技术开始广泛运用,远程教育模式进入演讲课堂。 The speech education in contemporary America mainly aims to cultivate the ability of interpersonal communication and social activity, to cultivate self-confidence and healthy personality, and help them improve the ability of job selection and career pursuit. The cultivation of verbal skills is regarded as the basic factor to help the student take up an occupation, pursue the success of career and effectively take part in the democratic social life. The trend of speech education in contemporary America includes the diversification of students＂ ethnicity and ancestry, the widespread application of communication technology of informational media, the application of distance educational model in speech classroom.
