The implementation of the state's western development strategy has brought both new opportunities and challenges to Inner Mongolia's economic development. Against a background of new system, a situation of market economy and an environment of opening up to the outside world, we must be armed with new modes of thought so as to have a scientific understanding of a number of important issues concerning the economic development, such as the advantages and disadvantages, the right way of thinking and the way out, reform and innovation, and to work out economic development strategies in Inner Mongolia.
