Metaphor is a kind of figure of speech and it is frequently being used in our daily conversations to express our ideas. According to Grice's theory of conversational implicature, in order to achieve certain communicative purposes, participants adopt various skills or techniques to express their ideas in a direct or indirect way. Metaphors are commonly used when the Speakers express their ideas indirectly to the hearers and the meanings could be correctly understood by them because they posses certain kinds of cognitive abilities from the experiential view.
