Probing into Drama Translation from Cultural Perspectives

戏剧是一种特殊的文学形式,其本身有着与生俱来、特色鲜明的艺术性,戏剧语言具有强烈的舞台性,同时也蕴含着深刻的文化内容。在戏剧翻译中,译者除了要考虑戏剧舞台效果、视听效果、观众的接受性和戏剧文本语言动作性等因素,还应考虑戏剧的语言表述、礼仪文明、道德规范、思想意识、宗教信仰等文化因素。文化视角下的戏剧翻译路径选择是:扮演好文化协调者角色;提升译者文化素质,选择恰当表达方式;全球化融合与本土化坚守;树立正确的文化观和翻译观。

The drama is a special type of literary form, with its inherent and distinct artistry in characteristics, the language used in dramas containing strong stagecraft and profound cultural contents. When it comes to translating drama texts, translators should take into consideration not only drama-stage effects, audio-visual effects, audience＇s acceptability and dialogue of drama texts but also language performance, etiquette rules, moral norms, ideologies and religious beliefs. It is the appropriate option for the translation of the drama to play the role of an outstanding cultural coordinator; to improve translators＇ cultural quality in choosing appropriate expressions; to embrace both domestication and foreignization strategies in cultural dimensions; and to foster a correct views on cultures and translation.
