摘要
近20年来,各种认知理论不断地被引入到二语习得研究领域,它们对二语习得结果的解释发挥重要的作用,但是这些理论与二语习得研究的结合尚处在初始阶段,且在应用方面存在一定的局限性。本文首先对二语习得研究中的几个主要认知理论:联结主义、竞争模式、涌现主义和动态系统理论等进行综述,分析其优劣,然后对它们的共同特征和存在的问题进行归纳,最后在指出这些理论的局限性的基础上,强调它们应用于二语习得研究中的积极作用和发展潜力。
In the past twenty years or so, cognitive theories have continually been borrowed to the field of second language acquisition (SLA) research. Though these theories have played a marked role in explaining SLA outcomes, each of them has its own limitations in practice. In light of these, the article reviews a few key cognitive theories in SLA studies, including connectionism, competition model, emergentism, and dynamic systems theory with a focus on their strengths and weaknesses in the first place; then it moves on to the analysis of their common characteristics; finally it argues that the active roles and great potentials of the theories in SLA should not be neglected while acknowledging their limitations.
