摘要
本文为与著名美国多语习得者和翻译家迈克·海姆教授关于多语习得和多语翻译认知机制的对话录。对话者就多语习得的可能性、多语者的心理特征和认知结构、多语与母语的关系,以及多语习得的方法等问题进行了深入的讨论,旨在为语言接触、多语习得、语言共性和差异、翻译共性、多语翻译的认知机制等研究提供一些启示。
This is a transcription and translation of conversations with a prestigious American multilingual speaker and translator, Professor Michael Helm of UCLA on the cognitive mechanism of multilingualism, multiple language acquisition and translation. The interlocutors talked about a series of relevant topics, ranging from the possibility of multiple language acquisition, the psycho- cognitive characteristics of multilingual speakers, the relationship of multilingualism and the native language, and the methodology of multiple and foreign language acquisition. It is supposed to feed with first hand data to such studies on language contact, multilingualism, language universals and discrepancies, translation universals, and cognitive studies of multilingualism.
