This paper reviews and summarizes the early characteristics of distribution network cable insulation water tree and the domestic and international technical development of loss current harmonic component testing scheme. Through exploratory research on the early feature testing of MV XLPE insulation water tree, futher discussion is made about the advantages and application prospects of loss factor and loss current measurement technology.
