摘要
在翻译目的论的视角下,以杭州"外婆家"餐厅的菜单为例,发掘其菜单英译在多大程度上考虑到译入语受众。调查结果表明,大多数菜单的英译能够被外国人所理解,但一些采用写意性命名法的菜名英译仍让人不知所云。
Based on the perspective of Skopos Theory, taking The Grandmother's Home in Hangzhou as an example, the paper is to explore to what extent the English translation of the menu considering the target audience. The survey results show that most English translation versions of the menu can be un- derstood by foreigners. However, there are still some English translation versions, especially impres- sionistic nomenclature dish names, which are incomprehensible.
