中国水墨动画在中国乃至世界动画史上占据着重要地位。中国水墨动画与一般二维动画不同之处在于传统的二维动画多采取单线平涂的方式进行制作,具有很明显的轮郭线;而水墨动画则是采用水墨在宣纸上的自然渲染开来,无明显轮廓线并且创造出中国水墨动画所特有的意境美。
