明末清初,在地方政局混乱的背景下,吴六奇提倡文教,重建潮州地方儒学设施,潮州地方文教赖以继承和繁荣;剿匪安民,潮州百姓赖以保全性命;重建城墙,重置巡检司,重修驿站,构筑地方防御网,潮州地方防御赖以巩固,郑成功集团侵潮掠粮行为得以遏制。吴六奇为明末清初潮州地方社会的安定和发展作出了重要贡献。

In the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties, though the local political situation of Chaozhou was in turbulence, Wu Liuqi advocated Confucian education and rebuilt Confucian facilities actively, making the local culture and education develop continually. Under his leadership, the bandits and robbers were exter- minated, ensuring safety to the city and the people＇ s life. In order to build a sturdy defense network, the city walls, military stations, were rebuilt, making a solid defense system of Chaozhou solid and defending against the intrusion by Zheng Chenggong Military Group.
