On Port Trade of Hekou under CAFTA: Opportunities and Challenges

中国—东盟自由贸易区的建成,有利于促进河口口岸的经济增长,充分发挥其区位优势,优化口岸贸易的商品结构,并扩大与东盟各国的经济技术合作与投资。但随着关税的减免,会使得口岸的税收收入减少,边境贸易的优势也将丧失,同时区域内自由贸易竞争的加剧也会对本土企业和产品造成冲击。

China--ASEAN Free Trade Area （CAFTA） is conducive to the promotion of Hekou port economic growth, and will give full play to its regional advantages, optimize the product structure of the port trade. It also will expand Hekou port＇s economic and technical cooperation and investment with ASEAN countries. However, with the relief of tariffs, the tax revenues of the port will reduce, the advantage of border trade will also lost. Moreover the intense competition of regional free trade will have an impact on the local enterprises and products.
