An English-Chinese Contrast of Long Sentences in Translated Gone With the Wind by Fu Donghua

英语长句一直是汉译的难点。文章在分析英汉语差异的基础之上,对傅东华译本《飘》的长句翻译进行微观考察,以期更好地揭示英汉语的本质差别,共同提高英译汉的效果。

English long sentences are always regarded difficult when translated into Chinese. This paper, based on the analysis of the difference-between the two languages, deals in detail with the translation of long sentences of Gone With the Wind by translator Fu Donghua, serving as good example to explore the natural difference of the two languages, thus improves translation from English to Chinese.
