在辛亥革命的伟大变革中,作为朝廷命官的王正雅顺应历史潮流,及时高举反清大旗,加入到民军抗击清军的洪流之中,并在援助鄂军唐牺支部围攻荆州的战斗中立下战功,获取了他一生中最值得炫耀的资本。接着他以第一任常澧镇守使之名,统治沅水、澧水流域多年,成为显赫一时的风云人物。然而,他抵制"二次革命",拥护袁世凯复辟,暴露了其封建守旧的本质,最后因权力之争而命丧猫儿峪。

In the Xinhai Revolution, Wang Zhengya, an important of the Qing Dynasty, joined the army against the Qing Dynasty and made great contribution to Tang Xi＇ s attacking Jingzhou. After that, he was nominated to domi- nate the region along the Yuan River and Li River for many years. However, he was against the ＂Second Revolution＂ and supported Yuan Shikai, which revealed his feudal and conserved nature. Finally, he died in Mao＇eryu in power struggle.
